WHAT WE DO

  • We build homes for homeless survivors of the January 12, 2010 earthquake.
  • We advocate with the congressional and other government officials in the United States, in Haiti and abroad.
  • We provide disaster mitigation and emergency preparedness training.
  • We spearheaded and effected construction of Haiti's 3 Digit Emergency number (116).

MFH has extensive relationships through all sectors of Haitian society. We have earned the respect of all parts of our community from Haitian officials to the disenfranchised, from the country side to the parliament and abroad. Our members have been working on the development of Haiti long before January 12, 2010 and after the earthquake. We were among the first to respond to the call to help Haiti. We count the establishment of the Command Center of The Embassy of Haiti as one of our many meaningful achievements. Our team delivered more than 7,000 lbs of medical supplies and mobilized dozens of medical professionals who delivered critically needed care to the earthquake’s survivors

Mobilize For Haiti has built a broad and growing coalition that represents a sizable cross-section of Haitians residing in the United States Canada, and Haiti. Our members regularly travel to Haiti to monitor the recovery efforts and to get first hand accounts of the needs and challenges facing the country. We have built strong partnerships with numerous local and communal grass-root organizations like SEKONAPA, which is comprised of 79 rural organizations, forming 11 departmental associations. Our other partnerships include FNJD (Federation National de la Jeunesse) The Rural Haiti Project, the Mabouya Foundation, and five of the largest Haitian churches located in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and throughout the nation.
